A local running group will be lacing up to commemorate the 23 people who lost their lives in last April’s shooting.
The Four Shoe Runners will be holding a run on Sunday, a virtual one, that is part of the Nova Scotia Remembers Legacy Society’s event.
A member of the group, Christina Blake, talked about how they got involved.
“When I saw it pop up I mentioned it to a number of the people in our run group and we all decided as a group that as many of us that were available, that were here, the could participate, we would participate and remember that day.” said Blake.
She also discussed why it was important to get involved.
“It’s important to remember the people that were taken so suddenly and so needlessly,” said Blake. “We all want to participate in some way to commemorate that day, and remember.”
Members of the Four Shoe Runners will be doing a 5 KM walk, 10 KM run or a half marathon.
The public is encouraged to participate and can register for the virtual run here
