Demolition work taking place at the Central/Main street intersection.
Work on the Main Street Redevelopment Project is starting today in Yarmouth with demolition work.
Construction work is happening at the intersection of Central Street and Main Street. Concrete demolition is taking place today and the Central Street entrance to Main Street is closed. Sections of the sidewalk in the area are also closed.
The Town of Yarmouth says there is no time frame for when the work will be finished.
After the concrete and asphalt is removed, the area will be prepared for new concrete for the Barrier Free Ramps. After that they will do work inside the bumps which includes planters, seating, bike racks, and art features.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed in 3 months.
Work on a water main break on Brunswick street near Brunswick Bowling Lanes is also happening today.
The town says the street is closed from James street to Shaw avenue. The repair is expected to take five hours.
