Spring has officially arrived.
The new season was ushered in at 6:37 a.m. on Saturday morning, but if you were to look outside, it would be easy to get mixed up.
Roughly 10 to 15 centimetres of snow fell around many areas of the province on Friday.
It was a stark reminder that winter can still provide a blast or two in late March (or even April).
In an interview with our newsroom, Jessie Uppel of The Weather Network, said the system on Friday could be this year’s version of Shelia’s Brush. A term given to the final storm of the year which typically happens around St. Patrick’s Day.
However, starting on Sunday, most of the province can expect sun and warm temperatures for the next four days.
Temperatures will range from eight to 14 degrees right through until Wednesday. Warm temperatures are expected for the remainder of the week but rain is in the forecast for those days.
The spring season will stick around until June 21.
