There’s no creameries on Cape Breton Island, but that’s about to change.
Skye Glenn Creamery will open this spring.
Meghan Brosens, co-owner of Skye Glenn Creamery says she made Inverness Co. home in 2013 because their farm dream couldn’t become a reality in Ontario.
Brosens says financially moving to the east coast to buy a farm made sense.
“Neither one of us have been past Quebec City and we were like you know we can make this work. We moved and it was the best thing we ever did, we love it here.”
Brosens and her husband wanted to open a creamery since they bought the farm eight years ago.
She says when the creamery opens, their Inverness Co. location will offer milk and other products.
“Starting with chocolate milk as the flavored milk. Maybe If there’s interest later on we can do a seasonal milk like strawberry or cappuccino.“
Brosens says their products will be available at businesses across the Quad Counties and they will have a storefront in Skye Glenn.
