
A man in Yarmouth has been charged after stolen items were recovered from his home, which was near his victims home.
Yarmouth District RCMP responded to a report of break and enter last Thursday on Regent Street and found damage to the victim’s property and a number of items were reported stolen.
The South West Forensic Identification Services, Yarmouth/Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Yarmouth Town GIS found a number of the stolen items at a nearby home, also on Regent Street, after executing a search warrant.
23 year-old Nicholas Joseph Deveau of Yarmouth was arrested and charged with of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime of more than $5,000 and Break and Enter. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on March 22.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. They’re asking people to secure and keep an eye out for suspicious activity around their property as well as the property of their neighbours.
