The town of Yarmouth is having a public hearing tomorrow before their council meeting.
There’s two items on the agenda: to add additional structures at Tidal View Manor Society’s The Meadows and the sale of a property at 56 Argyle street for housing.
Mayor Pam Mood talked about why its important for the town to discuss the housing on Argyle street.
“Housing is top of mind for everybody here in Yarmouth. Certainly throughout the entire province,” said Mood. “Locally, we’re desperate for housing. We’ve committed to doing everything we can to find more housing, certainly affordable housing.”
She also discussed why attending the meeting is important.
“Anytime there’s a change or a possible change in how we do things its important for the public to be able to voice their concerns,” said Mood. “We encourage folks to voice their opinions through those public processes.”
The hearing starts at 7. People can attend in person or watch online. COVID-19 guidelines will also be in place.
