An escalating vandalism problem in one Yarmouth County community has prompted a local municipal councilor to address it head-on.
During Tuesday’s Municipality of the District of Argyle Committee of the Whole meeting, Kathy Bourque detailed some of the incidents happening in East Pubnico.
She noted that tires have been slashed at the Lower East Pubnico wharf, vehicles vandalized, and rocks have been thrown through windows.
“We’re having a meeting with the Advisory Committee along with RCMP to see what we can do,” she explained. “The residents are tired of this so I thought I’d step up a bit and see what could be done.”
Bourque encourages anyone who may have experienced vandalism on their property, no matter how small, to contact RCMP so they have it on record.
