Provincial NDP leader Gary Burrill was in town this week and stated his position on the Yarmouth to Bar Harbour ferry link.
Speaking with Y95 news he said his position has been clear since he became leader of the NDP five years ago.
“Nova Scotia is a long, skinny, province and it can only thrive, in our communities and our economy, if we have ferry links at either end of it,” said Burrill. “Nova Scotia as a province, as a whole, needs a Yarmouth ferry.”
Burrill also outlined what he believes the problem is.
“The difficulty has been that the federal government has not accepted its responsibility to be one of the meaningful funding partners in making that possible.”
