RCMP have taken the rare step of quashing rumours swirling in the community surrounding a missing persons case.
Zachery Lefave hasn’t been seen since early on New Year’s Day.
They’ve said that they have followed up on information they received on Monday and Tuesday about Lefave related to areas of Clyde River and Plymouth.
Police say there is nothing to substantiate the information and that the people involved are cooperating.
The Yarmouth Rural RCMP Detachment is now seeking to speak with anyone who was driving or walking on Highway 334 between Arcadia and Wedgeport, between 11:30 pm on December 31, 2020 and 03:00 am on January 1, 2021.
Lefave is described as white, 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, brown facial hair, brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a hat, plaid shirt and shorts.
The investigation is ongoing.
The press release from the RCMP did not state whether or not they suspect criminality at this point.
