Today the Government of Nova Scotia announced an increase to the minimum wage in this province. On April 1st the minimum wage will increase by 40 cents to $12.95 an hour. This is good news for the minimum wage workers but many are saying that this is still not enough to live on. Though there has been some improvement year over year. The minimum wage has slowly been raised over the years and hopefully will continue to do so. Check out the info I found below from a article from the website Savey New Canadians!

I personally think that increasing the minimum wage is a huge step in the right direction but it does need to be more. There are a ton of minimum wage workers in Nova Scotia nad in Canada! Statistics Canada says that in 2017 there were over 1.57 million people who were getting paid the minimum wage. That is a lot of people so yes I do think it is a priority for the province and the Country. I know others disagree which is fine! Let’s talk about it! How much should the minimum wage be in Nova Scotia? You can give me a call and we can talk about it or comment on our Facebook Page!
