Another bump in the province’s minimum wage is coming in April.
Labour and Advanced Education Minister Lena Metlege Diab announced on Tuesday that government has accepted a recommendation for an overall 40 cent minimum wage increase.
That means workers who earn minimum wage will receive $12.95 an hour starting April 1.
The Minimum Wage Review Committee also recommended further review of the current rate, on top of exploring the approach taken to set the wage and whether other options should be explored.
The government says that will be considered over the coming weeks.
Only PEI counts a higher wage in Atlantic Canada, at an even $13 an hour come April 1st.
