The RCMP have received new resources in their search for the five missing fishermen from the Chief Williams Saulis fishing vessel.
They recently received a Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) equipped with a Tritech Gemini multi-beam sonar from RCMP in British Columbia.
The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team will be operating the vehicle which uses newer tech than what’s been previously used.
RCMP say weather conditions appear favourable today and that the team is expected to be in the water later this afternoon when tidal conditions are optimal.
The scallop dragger and most of its crew have been missing since the vessel went down early on the morning of December 15th.
The majority of the search so far has been done via helicopter.
