Municipality of the District of Argyle Warden Danny Muise says that even though 2020 forced us to work from home, it didn’t stop us from coming together.
Muise outlined the council’s biggest achievement in a year that was rocked by COVID-19.
“Not knowing when this hit, we weren’t sure how things were going to work,” said Muise. “I think the biggest accomplishment that we had was to be able to provide the services even though we weren’t at the office. We were able to provide what we would have provided had we been open.”
Muise says another big accomplishment was getting construction on their administration building going, which has been a project for a few years.
In 2021, Muise says the council will work to bring more reliable internet for the community with Develop Nova Scotia.
“We’ve always known how essential good internet reception is,” said Muise. “I think with COVID-19 and people working from home really told everybody how important it was to have. We’re really looking to having that going for sure.”
