RCMP say they’ve turned up debris that is consistent with a small part of the scallop dragger Chief William Saulis.
The search for the vessel and five missing fishermen is into its third week.
Mounties have been conducting aerial searches of the coastline in the Digby Gut to Harbourville area for more than a week.
The debris was found on Monday, police say they’re partnering with the Transportation Safety Board to see if it’s from the vessel.
No searches happened on Tuesday because no helicopter was available, though it’s expected to resume on Wednesday.
