Digby General Hospital’s Emergency Department will be closed from 6 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Saturday
This is due to lack of physician coverage.
Anyone with urgent medical needs is asked to call 911 and to call 811 for general health advice and information.
The announcement comes on the heels of the province releasing this year’s Accountability Report on Emergency Departments.
The Digby Emergency Department has been closed for a total of 203 hours from April 2019 until March 2020.
The upcoming closure, for 50 consecutive hours, would represent a quarter of that yearly figure.
