When I was a kid days like today ment two things! No School and Sledding! I loved to go sliding down hills with my friends and every snowstorm we would head right to our favorite hills and have a blast! To be honest if I had time I would still be doing it, although I think I would hurt myself more now! I grew up in Shelburne and every kid that lived in town knows that one of the best sledding hills is at the Parr Street Park. There were a few other good hills but that was probably the best! It was not just the hill though that made it fun it was the type of sled too! You needed to have a certain kind to go fast. Crazy carpets were OK but a good sturdy light plastic sled was one of the best! Those fancy ones that had a steering wheel never seemed to work the best.
I’m curious to see where other good sliding hills are around the Tri Counties. Tomorrow will really be a great sledding day and who knows how long this snow will last.
