A disappointing but understandable – and necessary – decision by Mayor Pam Mood surrounding the town’s 100 Meals in 100 Days program.
In a lengthy facebook post on Thursday, Mayor Mood said that the program is cancelled this year.
The initiative was launched in 2018 as a response to the need in the community.
It typically kicks off at the beginning of December and provides 100 free community meals for 100 days.
The Mayor says that with the second wave of the pandemic upon us, the focus must be fully on health and safety.
She notes that Deputy Mayor Steve Berry and Councilor Derek Lesser are both working on gathering Christmas food parcels and other food items to those in need.
Mayor Mood also encourages those that can, to donate to the local food bank.
