Council for the Municipality of the District of Argyle have again supported Danny Muise for Warden.
The election of Warden and Deputy Warden happened on Tuesday night.
Muise was elected Warden unopposed; he initially assumed the role in June 2019.
Before council made their choices, they were afforded the opportunity to shed some light on their priorities.
Muise detailed some of his priorities for the council session ahead including affordable housing and at a regional level, dealing with the loss of the YMCA.
“What I would like to see more economic growth in the Municipality,” he began. “We’ve had a rough year for sure. It would be nice to see more small businesses that would establish themselves.”
Nicole Albright was chosen as Deputy Warden, the first female Deputy Warden in the Municipality of Argyle.
She noted priorities at the regional, municipal, and district level.
“We’ve talked around the table a lot about the Eel Brook Fire Hall,” she noted. “For me, that’s one of the most important projects for my own district. They need a fire hall. They needed a fire hall a long time ago, we know that. I will work closely with the department to make sure that happens as soon as we can.”
Albright is the first female Deputy Warden in the Municipality of Argyle.
Council was sworn-in at a private ceremony earlier in the month, with the election of Warden and Deputy Warden the following week.
