COVID-19 tests can now be booked online.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Doctor Robert Strang says they rolled out online booking in the central zone Wednesday, and it is coming to the rest of the province in mid-November.
Doctor Strang says people who have completed the province’s online self assessment, and require a COVID-19 test, will be able to immediately book online.
“They can go right away, and stay online, and then book their appointment for that test.”
Doctor Strang says it should take about 10 minutes.
He says if anyone urgently needs a test, they will still be directed to a person.
“It’s important people understand,” he says. “If they need an urgent assessment, the online assessment will direct them to call 811 where a nurse will then take them through the usual 811 process.”
The Department of Health and Wellness reported no new cases Wednesday.
One infection has resolved, the province is down to five active infections.
