Motorists in Clark’s Harbour awoke to an unpleasant scene on community roads Tuesday morning.
Barrington RCMP say they’re investigating incidents of roofing nails dumped on roadways between Newellton and Clark’s Harbour.
Police say they got the call just before 7:00 a.m.
Nails were found on Highway 330 and entrances to West Head Wharf, Clarks Harbour Wharf, and Newellton Wharf.
Sgt. Andrew Joyce says they believe the nails were purposely set.
“I think it was done purposely because it was too many locations, and the way it was spread out.”
He says those responsible could face a mischief charge under the criminal code, which could result in up to 10 years in prison.
Joyce says so far, there has been no reports of damaged tires, but the matter is still under investigation.
