Summer officially started Saturday, and a weather expert says it’ll be hot and dry.
Environment Canada’s Senior Climatologist says they’re usually not so confident.
Phillips says, this year, the models are all saying the same thing.
“Almost the vast majority of them say warmer, warmer, warmer, so we think that is really what the pattern is going to be,” he says. “We think it will be a good muscle shirt, tank-top kind of weather.”
Phillips says we’ve already gotten a preview.
He says the first days of summer have been that kind of hot and dry.
“I think that is really the dress rehearsal, the dry run of what we see summer like.”
Phillips says they’re expecting an active hurricane season as well, and that might not be a bad thing.
He says it may well bring much needed rain during the hot and dry summer months.
