Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the province, for a total of 1055 but the big news is that there have now been 40,240 negative test results.
The QEII Health Sciences Centre’s microbiology lab had one of it’s biggest days yesterday, completing 1136 tests.
The Northwood long-term care home in Halifax still has the majority of active cases with twelve residents and four staff, as well as fifty-two of the fifty-nine deaths in the province, but there were no new cases identified there in the past twenty-four hours.
Eight people are in the hospital, three of them in Intensive Care, while 977 people have recovered, and three active cases outside of Northwood.
A reminder that the list of symptoms being screened for was recently expanded. If you have any one of the following symptoms, you should have a further assessment:
— fever (i.e. chills, sweats)
— cough or worsening of a previous cough
— sore throat
— headache
— shortness of breath
— muscle aches
— sneezing
— nasal congestion/runny nose
— hoarse voice
— diarrhea
— unusual fatigue
— loss of sense of smell or taste
— red, purple or blueish lesions on the feet, toes or fingers without clear cause
