
Twenty-four Nova Scotians have now died as a result of COVID-19 after two more people passed away on Saturday.
In a release, the Department of Health and Wellness says both deaths occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax.
So far, 197 residents and 95 staff have tested positive at ten licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors’ facilities in Nova Scotia.
The QEII Health Sciences Centre’s microbiology lab completed 673 tests on Saturday with eight new cases of COVID-19 identified, giving a total of 873 confirmed cases in the province.
Thirteen individuals are in the hospital, with three of them in Intensive Care.
There have also been 25,615 negative test results so far, and four hundred and thirty-nine cases are now considered resolved as the individuals have recovered.
