Christmas Season has begun! Some will argue that it’s been the Season for weeks now, and I won’t argue that one….
What I AM here to argue is for Christmas movies that many don’t think are actually Christmas movies, or that many have forgotten in among all the traditional ones (or the Hallmark ones…)
So here’s a list of movies I can’t do without at Christmas that may not QUITE be considered in with “It’s a Wonderful Life”…..
1. Die Hard and Die Hard 2
Many argue that Die Hard is a Christmas Movie. Of course it is! Just check the title of this Blog….
But many forget that not only is the first Die Hard Christmas, so is the second one. How about a little Die Hard 2: Die Harder love??
2. Lethal Weapon
the fist Lethal Weapon is most definitely a Christmas movie, and to be honest I may like it even more than Die Hard. Take that Bruce Willis.
3. Iron Man 3
Much maligned, but one of my favorites in the series, written and directed by the same guy who wrote Lethal Weapon, Shane Black. Obviously he’s another lover of Christmas.
4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
It’s a Halloween movie! It’s a Christmas movie! It’s the perfect mash-up, and I try to make it the movie I watch just after Halloween to get me in the mood for everything that’s to come.
5. The Thin Man
The Thin Man is a series of Whodunnits from the 30’s featuring a husband and wife – Nick and Norah Charles. The first is set at Christmas, the second “After the Thin Man” is set a week later at New Years. If you’ve never seen them you need to. They are hilarious!
