Winter Tires! Yes or No?

We woke up to a little snow throughout South West Nova! With snow usually comes ice and cold weather and I saw a bit of icy roads today. This begs the question. Do you have your snow tires on yet and do you use snow tires?

Snow tires are one of those things that you hear people talk about every winter. Some say that winter or studded tires are a must in our climate while others say that all seasons are fine. There is currently only one province in Canada that makes winter tires mandatory, Quebec. Every other province and territory strongly recommend that winter tires are used but do not mandate them.

So what do you think? Do you think winter tires should be mandatory or should it be left up to the car owner. I personally feel a little safer with winter or studded tires on my car in the winter but I know a lot of others feel differently. Let me know what you think and if you do plan to get your winter tires on you might want to hurry I tried this morning and most places have been booked for weeks!
