A section of downtown Yarmouth will be transformed to celebrate Christmas.
The Candy Cane Lane Festival takes place Saturday November 23 from 5 to 8 p.m along Main Street from Forest Street to Frost Park.
Festival association spokesperson Barb Firth says the theme is Jingle All The Way and the possibilities are endless.
“It’s going to be very different from than we had before. We’re going to close off the streets and we’re going to have the same kinds of entries that we would have for a for a parade like we had before. Which would floats, walkers, carolers. You could set up tents and have a display, you could give out hot chocolate. What we’re aiming for is that everything you give out would be free to the public and it doesn’t cost anything to go to this. There’ll be decorated floats and people walking around passing out candy to children.”
All the floats and displays will be stationary.
And yes, Santa will be there !
Entry forms are available at town hall, Friend’s of Jane’s at 278 Main Street or can be downloaded from a link to their website.
Firth says those wanting to enter a float must first provide proof of insurance.
