A nearly $600,000 expansion of a building owned by the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth (MODY) is underway.
The building, at the Hebron Recreational Complex grounds, is currently used by MODY’s Recreation Department for maintenance work.
CAO Victoria Brooks says the expansion will provide space for the Public Works Department.
“It’s not necessarily a storage space to keep equipment inside, although that will be part of the function, it also provides appropriate space or the team to provide appropriate maintenance for the machines.”
Brooks says work began last week with footings being dug and poured this week.
