The shark was hooked off southwestern Nova Scotia.
The massive mako was caught during the 2004 Yarmouth Shark Scramble.
Scramble spokesperson Bob Gavel says it was worthy of a life-sized replica.
“That shark was 11 foot, 4 inches in length, it weighed one thousand and 84 pounds and the girth of the shark was around
It’s now being painted in Florida and should arrive here in a couple of weeks.
Gavel says the replica statue will be placed behind Rudders near the main wharf once the site has been prepared.
