13 charges were laid as a result of a crack down on illegal off-highway vehicle use in southwestern Nova Scotia.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the multi-agency operation took place on July 26 in Digby County and involved the RCMP, DFO and Department of Environment.
“A revoked driver, someone who needed a 7-day suspension and we issued three tickets under the Motor Vehicle Act, three under the Off-Highway Vehicle Act and we also issued three warnings under the Off-Highway Vehicle Act.”
Clarke says 20 to 25 vehicles were checked with one being impounded for failing to stop for officers.
She says tips from the public were very helpful in identifying the more troublesome areas.
