If you’ve got something that you don’t want police to find, make sure you don’t dial them by accident.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says that’s what happened Monday when officers responded to a mis-dialed 911 call from a residence in Chebogue.
“We went to the home to make sure there wasn’t an emergency. Sometimes we look for different queues to determine if we need to go into the home to make sure there’s no emergency. So, we went inside the house, with the permission of the homeowner, and discovered 100 firearms in the home.”
She said while the 94 long guns and six handguns were legal, none of which were properly secured.
The individual was arrested for Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, and the guns were seized.
The homeowner, who intended to call 411, directory assistance, was released and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court in October.
