Yarmouth’s fire chief is retiring.
John Verrall had given a 5-year commitment to the town but remained longer.
Mayor Pam Mood says they follow a process when replacing senior management.
“We are in the process of doing a search for a new fire chief. It’s a very important role. We don’t expect to have that position filled by the time the chief retires so in the meantime we will need to find an acting chief.”
The position of fire chief is advertised on a couple of jobs posting websites through Gerald Walsh Associates Inc.
Mayor Mood says Verrall has been an amazing chief and they wish him well.
