After 10 years, Gil Dares is stepping down as general manager of the Mariners Centre.
The resignation is effective at the end of this month.
Mike Randall, president of the Mariners Centre Management Board, says Dares had a good run as manager.
“All went well. He’s decided where he is in his point in his life that it’s time to move forward with his life and Mariners Centre to move forward with a new general manager.”
He says at their August 14 meeting the board, owners and contributors, will be deciding on a process of how to proceed with the selection of a new general manager.
Dares, who is 65, says he was offered a contract extension but declined.
He says he’s proud of his accomplishments over the past decade.
