People in Shelburne are getting their dancing shoes ready.
The Shelburne Street Dance is happening Saturday night from 9 p.m until 1 a.m on Water Street between King Street and John Street.
The event dates back to 1783.
Rob Stork says he and his wife Marta are in their fourth year of organizing the dance after it was cancelled in 2015.
“Marta and I being recent landed immigrants here decided it was something we fell in love with when we came to Shelburne initially and we just thought it was the greatest event.
Stork says the evening will feature DJ Cory Nickerson and a cash bar.
There is a $5 admission and the event is for people 19 years-old and up.
Stork says they’re happy to help bring the town together for a night on their feet.
“People have come up to us and said ‘I haven’t danced in 30 years, thanks for doing this.’ It really goes back in the memory of people in Shelburne and the surrounding area.”
