Shelburne is celebrating its history this weekend.
The annual Founders’ Days Festival opens tomorrow at midday and goes until Sunday afternoon.
There is plenty to see and do including 18th Century Loyalist Encampments each day on Dock Street, Shelburne’s Got Talent and the parade of lights and fireworks Saturday night in Shelburne Harbour.
Events Coordinator, Robin Walker, feels it’s their signature event.
“It’s one of the biggest events in the county. It brings a lot of tourists in, it brings a lot of people home and brings a lot of revenue into the area.”
She says there are events that didn’t make the schedule including a presentation on Loyalist History at 1 p.m. Friday at the Guild Hall.
There are also tours of the restored Mill Building from 10 a.m until 4 p.m Friday and Saturday and 12-4 on Sunday.
