I have always been a huge fan of Matt Minglewood and the Minglewood Band. To me they represtent the very best of the East Coast Sound, and have for decades. As a matter of fact, the first Concert I ever went to was a Minglewood Band Concert at the old Yarmouth Arena. I have several of the old albums on vinyl, and on any given Gold Rush Radio Show you will hear me playing his music. Matt turned 72 this past January, and he is STILL out there Rocking and Rolling.
On the weekend his followers on Facebook got some bad news; a small accident at home cost Matt his vision in one eye.
The accident happened on July 4th, and resulted in Matt cancelling his gigs for last weekend. But it isn’t going to slow him down much more than that – all of his remaining gigs are still on.
I would like to wish Matt all the best! And come to Yarmouth for a gig sometime soon!
