Bruce Gates, chief of the Kemptville District Volunteer Fire Department, says the call came in around 12:30 Thursday morning to a property in East Kemptville.
He says the barn and all its contents were destroyed including a four-wheeler.
Gates says one side of the house sustained some damage but firefighters saved that structure.
The Carleton and District Fire Department also responded.
They cleared the scene at 5 a.m. but returned later in the morning to douse some hot spots.
There’s no word on the cause.
