One moment of poor judgement can lead to a lifetime of heartache, regret, and death.
That’s what Derick Hudson learned the hard way.
A night of partying in 2004 led to driving under the influence and the death of two passengers, one of them his best friend, the other, a young man he’d just met.
Both he and his friend were through the windshield of the vehicle with such force, it tore their clothes off. First responders found his buddy, dead in a field.
Hudson promised he would use this experience to spread his message. He was true to his word.
Hudson now speaks at schools to students around the same age he was when it happened, passing on his most important lesson.
“You’ve got to be responsible for your actions and plan ahead. Don’t let drunk self make decisions for you.”
