Tusket’s Alyssa LeBlanc survived the first doubled length episode of MasterChef Canada and will compete again.
She surprised the judges at the start with a traditional Acadian rappie pie, which they had obviously never heard of.
LeBlanc tells CJLS News she wasn’t sure what would happen when they tried it.
“I knew for sure that they were either going to love it or hate it. It’s such a different texture and, you know, they’re chefs that tried food for six season worth of MasterChef and I think I really shocked their palettes with it. But they did like it, they actually came back for more and they were so intrigued by it”
She also confirms that the rappie pie really was made in 45 minutes, using tips and tricks to speed up the process.
LeBlanc says the experience was very intense but that the contestants got along very well.
“We had a few days just to kind of meet each other. We got close really fast. They took our cellphones from us, they took TVs from us, like we had no connection to the outside world and we hung out with each other from 5AM to 10PM, so we had a lot of time to hang out with each other”
Will Alyssa LeBlanc survive another week on MasterChef Canada?
She tells CJLS News what we can expect this week.
“We’re cooking for a wedding. We get there, we have no idea what’s going on and then the tell us we’re cooking for 121 people at a wedding. It’s very stressful and people are getting pretty angry. From what I remember, I held myself well that day and I was kind of laughing at all this drama, so I don’t know what it’s going to look like on screen”
You can follow Alyssa LeBlanc and the other contestants on MasterChef Canada, Monday nights on CTV.
