Sandy Dennis was a real-life hero to many people.
The Yarmouth town councillor and former business owner lost her courageous battle with cancer.
Sandy passed away Wednesday afternoon at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
In a Facebook post to her many friends, Sandy’s husband Ken says her family was with her.
Sandy was diagnosed with cancer in February 2017.
She was one of the driving forces behind the attempt to bring radiation services to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Despite the progression of her cancer, Sandy always thought of others first.
There will be a memorial service at Yarmouth Wesleyan church on Saturday February 23 at 2 p.m.
