Motorists in Nova Scotia will have to pay a bit more at the pumps this week according to a senior petroleum analyst.
Dan McTeague of Gasbuddy.com says prices will rise a bit at midnight with the weekly price adjustment by the Utility and Review Board.
“New Brunswick saw just under a penny. It’s likely we’ll see just under a penny here as well for Nova Scotia come midnight tonight. So prices will in fact go up about a penny, same for diesel.”
McTeague says it’s always hard to predict what the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board will do.
“We could actually see a circumstance where, given the, for lack of a better term, the “loosely-goosey” nature of bureaucrats making decisions on gas prices, where there won’t be an increase at all.”
Last week gas rose by 7-tenths of a cent per litre while diesel took the biggest jump, going up by 3.4 cents a litre.
