Two people are facing charges following an investigation into what RCMP say was an unlicensed marijuana supplier.
Police say Shelburne RCMP’s Street Crime Enforcement Unit received information about a dispensary on the Shore Road in Port Saxon.
RCMP say officers searched the business and arrested a man and a woman without incident.
During the search, police say they located a significant amount of marijuana products which had been prepared for retail sales.
51 year-old Terry Lawrence Nickerson of Port Saxon has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Breach of a Firearms Prohibition Order.
47-year-old Bertha Phyllis Marie Wilkinson of Port Saxon, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
Both were released from custody and are scheduled to attend Shelburne Provincial Court on Dec. 5.
The police say further charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
A day earlier, the RCMP said they had conducted searches and charges would be laid, for drug-related offences in relation to searches that were conducted on September. 21, in connection to what the RCMP desribed as illegal marihuana storefront operations in Kings and Annapolis counties.
