Hundreds of people took to the streets of Shelburne Saturday.
They were there to add their voices to the growing number of people frustrated with what they say is a broken health care system.
The march began at the Loyalist Plaza on Water Street and participants were joined along the route as they marched to the Community Centre on King Street for a rally.
Mayor Karen Mattatall tells Acadia News that over 300 people took part and she thanks everyone for coming.
She says the underlying message is that the Liberal government isn’t doing enough to address issues like ongoing ER closures at Roseway Hospital, physician shortages.
“No more excuses. It’s time to fix this broken system”, the mayor posted on her Facebook page.
Mattatall says the Nova Scotia government will continue to hear the concerns of Nova Scotians.
“We’re encouraging people across the province on October 13 to join us in a provincial day of action where we’re going to hold rallies across the province, continuing to try to draw attention to the crisis in health care.”
Mattatall says more details will be released soon.
