It’s been an exciting summer for members and the board of the Yarmouth Arts Regional Council.
Last month the sale and transfer of the former Arcadia school from the Municipality of Yarmouth was was completed.
The president of the Th’YARC board of directors, Mitch Bonnar tells CJLS News, they’re about to launch a couple of fund raising campaigns.
“We’re raising small amounts of funds We’re utilizing the building a bit now and collecting some rentals but we have a long ways to go.”
He says they’d like to raise a quarter of a million dollars in the upcoming campaigns.
Bonnar says they’re looking at a couple of options including possibly a chase the ace.
He encourages people who haven’t already, to buy a membership to Th’YARC.
“When you put in applications for government funding, the more people you have on board the better. we’re looking to increase to about one thousand members. We’re at around 600 currently.
On another note, Bonnar also says they are collecting children’s winter coats.
They can be dropped off at the Th’YARC at 76 Parade Street.
He says they’ll collect the coats for a couple of weeks then they’ll be distributed.
