The Walk for a Cause, an annual fundraiser, was held last Saturday at the Barrington Regional Curling Club.
The Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund Society was created by Shelley d’Eon of Barrington, in memory of her mother.
She also lost her dad to cancer.
d’Eon tells Acadia News her parents would be very pleased.
“I think my mom and dad is smiling big time because the community has really grabbed a hold of this, they know the importance of this and I know my parents would be beyond proud.”
She says this year saw their highest amount raised so far.
Since it began in 2004, the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund has helped over 330 people in the Barrington and Clark’s Harbour area, with nearly to $600,000 raised.
