Nova Scotia’s Electoral Boundaries Commission will hold public consultations in our region.
They are among the 15 hearings being held across Nova Scotia seeking public input regarding provincial electoral boundaries.
The last boundary review in 2013 saw the former constituency of Shelburne County being split in two.
It also resulted in the elimination of designated Acadian ridings, which resulted in the formation of the Argyle-Barrington riding, the Queens-Shelburne riding and the Clare-Digby constituency.
Carree Robinson, the administrator of the boundaries commission says the consultations begin with a brief presentation from the commission.
“We do move through a list of registered speakers and it’s important to note that this is the first round of public consultations. There has been some confusion that that this upcoming round is it.”
If you would like to Register to speak at one of these events, please email ElectoralBoundariesCommission@novascotia.ca.
