The U13 girls Yarmouth Petvalu Clippers beat a team from Somerset Monday night in their first game of the league playdowns.
The game, played in Digby, ended in a 2-1 victory for Yarmouth.
Scoring for the Petvalu Clippers were Madison Cushing and Carly Kini.
Emily Nickerson was in net.
The Clippers will travel to Digby on Wednesday to play a team from Middleton.
The winner of that game will advance to the league Championships and will gain a berth in the Provincial Tournament, taking place in Porters Lake.
