Yarmouth’s Allie Munroe will once again play for Team Canada.
She was named to the women’s hockey development team that will play a three-game exhibition series this week against the United States in Calgary.
The first game is tomorrow night.
She says it will be an honour to play for Canada against their biggest rivals.
“We’re just going to do our best and try to win all three games. We’ll focus on one game at a time but it’s very exciting, there’s no better rivalry in women’s hockey.”
This is her second time representing Canada, as she played for the development team overseas in January.
She says everyone on the team shares the goal of competing at the 2022 Olympics.
“It’s one step at a time, or even a month of a year at a time. Just to continue with the Hockey Canada program is always an honour, and to take on the United States this week will be an amazing experience.”
Munroe will return to Syracuse University as a senior this fall.
She says her goal this season is to win a national championship.
