The Yarmouth 35+ Gateways made it to the semifinals of the Canadian National Oldtimers Baseball Championships in PEI over the long weekend.
The Gateways were unable to advance to the championship game, losing 3-1 to the Nova Scotia Mariners.
However, they still had a great tournament, defeating Charlottetown 8-2 in the quarterfinal.
They went 3-0 in the round robin with victories over Tilsonburg 9-8 and had 9-0 and 8-1 wins on opening day.
The Over 43 Tusket/Carl’s Store team lost 11-3 to Scarborough on Sunday, they had a 13-2 win over Medicine Hat on Friday, lost 12-1 to Woodslee on Saturday and tied Regina 2-2.
The Pleasant Valley Lakers Over 57 team started with two losses on Friday, then they fell 4-1 to Red Deer on Saturday.
The Lakers finished the tournament with a 7-0 win over the Nova Scotia Monarchs on Sunday.
