It’s an incident that police in Bridgewater, NS are calling very concerning.
Police officers on foot patrol at the Big Ex (South Shore Exhibition) got reports just after midnight Saturday of an intoxicated male allegedly carrying a gun.
Police located and arrested a local man who was in possession of a loaded .22-Calibre handgun and a concealed knife.
26-year-old, Matthew Jordan Corkum, of Oakhill, was taken into custody and faces a number of charges including:
Carrying a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited from doing so, carrying a weapon while attending a public meeting.
Corkum is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Court this morning (Monday, July 30th, 2018) for a bail hearing.
