A number of athletes from our area reached the podium at the Aylesford Triathlon on the weekend.
Chris MacKenzie of Glenwood finished first in the the Olympic Triathlon, which consists of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike and a 10km run.
MacKenzie did it in two hours, 15 minutes and 33 seconds.
Just 39 seconds behind him was Yarmouth’s Bryan Hipson, an accomplished runner and ironman competitior.
In the Aquabike event, Adam Aldred of West Pubnico came in first place with a time of one hour, 34 minutes and 21 seconds.
That event consists of a 1.5km swim and a 40km bike race.
